Single Core Power Cable (PVC Insulated)

A single-core cable has only one electrical conductor in an insulating sleeve. PVC insulated single core cables are normally used in the network power system and local power transmitting system. These PVC single core cables have a plain anneal strand or solid conduct with PVC insulation and sheath. Single core PVC insulated cable/wire is referred to as CU/PVC/PVC 0.6/1KV single core power cable. The standard is IEC 60502-1 and AS/NZS5000.1 in Australia market.

    Applications

    Single core cables are typically used for electrical installations in buildings and industrial plants. They are used as supply and discharge lines for control cabinets, to wire circuits inside machines and to connect lights and signalling systems.

    Advantages 

    Easy insulation between phases, not easy to occur short-circuit between phases; convenient cable transportation, easy laying; a long cable can be done, single-core cable with the same cross-section carrying capacity.
